Our 5/8" premium eight plait nylon rope in lengths of 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 ft. is hand spliced into the first link of chain

5/16" Grade 43 ISO high test galvanized chain (also known as G4 or G40). The ISO short link makes it more flexible and ideally suited as windlass chain.

Chain breaking strength is approximately 15,600 lbs. and rope breaking strength is approximately 12,200 lbs. Chain weight is approximately 10.3 lbs per 10ft. A link of 5/16" chain has an inside length of 1.03" and an inside width of .51".
Our chain/rope combinations are custom made. We welcome all custom requests and can make virtually any rope/chain combination.

Rope Length: The conventional rule is to deploy 3-7 times the depth of the water plus the distance from the water to your bow. If the water is 10' and your bow is 5' above the water for a total of 15' and you deploy 7X you will have used 105'.
Chain Length: We recommend the longest chain length that you can comfortably handle. Important considerations are whether you will be using a windlass, the amount of storage space for rope and chain and the physical capabilities of the crew. Often suggested is to make the chain the same length as the boat.
